Hello
I'm Kevin and I'd like to welcome you to Vineyards Lights. Vineyards Lights (originally Lights on 47) came to be after the loss of the two people that meant the most to me had their lights extiguished way too soon between December of 2019 and February of 2020. Well then the isolation of COVID really pushed it along. A perfect storm to launch on an endeavor that is a blessing, a curse, an amazement, a source of crazy and stupid expensive, but worth it! I hope you enjoy the shows both in person and via video.

The show grew from just a few things and me having no idea but a great knack for all things electronic and computer coupled with pure will, to needing an electrician and learning how to load split between circuits when maximum draw would trip breakers (Griswold Style) and traffic issues, in 5 years. 2024 marked the "aha" moment where things started to really make full sense, a firm understanding of how to split models into sub models, which added a whole new level of visual interest and shadow modeling, which keeps the colors bright at maximum power draw on large models (this was almost as big as power injection, which I don't need anymore thanks to shadow models). Little things that are probably common that I am learning about! Looking forward to 3D design hopefully for the 2025 year. it's grown to need it's own storage building (250 SqFt stocked full) and computer, it truly has become it's own entitity with me (and sometimes my amazing friends) as it's free labor! Please see below for the folks that help to keep the lights dancing from the technical side, without the discovery of these folks, I'd probably not even be putting lights out for holidays anymore! (Rolling eye, but also very sincere thanks!)
Keeping the lights on
Holiday Coro - these guys ended up with me thanks to a quick google search "where can I get lights moving to music". Most of the show backbone is built from Holiday Coro's inventory. All lights, Light Controllers, light related extention cords, pixel boosters, power injection, tools, light mounting hardware, parts and pieces, some sequences, props like the christmas trees (the two mega as well as all 3 sizes of the little ones), all the stars, mega and mini, candy canes, pixel stakes (went from 10 to 100!), etc. The bulk of the show's investement and some serious controller tech support lay here as I was trying to learn how they worked. With a special thanks to Joe Hinkle for running over the HinksPix interface with me back in year 1. Lot of ready to run stuff made it easy to get up and going while learning.

Boscoyo Studio - some of the more amazing props on the house have come from Boscoyo. PPD Wreath, Ice Queen, Mesmerizer, the bulbs. Many more to come.

XLights - many of hours behind this program to see the amazing things it can do. It's grown with me, which is amazing, lots of dial ins to the webex they keep going for hobbiests around the world. The guys that do this are heroes and patient when I foget and have to call in again for the same thing.

Pixel Pro Displays, Showstopper, and RGB Sequences - many ready to import sequences come from these folks. It's made it easy to concentrate on learning while also having great dynamic content that I can adapt to the changing need of the show each year.

There are I am super sure many others that have contibuted. I'm currently going back to catelog everything so I can say thanks! So many others to try, Gilbert, EFL - I've got my eyes on you. :)

There is interest in moving this to a community sized event for both Halloween and Christmas in a 503(c)(3) or similar for the greater Meridian or Treasure Valley area. Please email me if interested in discussing further.
